WESING Supports the 2018 National Dojo Club
National Judo Championship Finals
From November 23 to 24, the 2018 National Dojo Club Judo Championships National Finals, hosted by the Chinese Judo Association and organized by Guangdong Zhongrou Cultural and Sports Management Co., Ltd., came to a successful conclusion in Zhongshan County, Hezhou City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

Fujian WESING Sporting Goods Co., Ltd. is the sponsor of the “2018 National Dojo Club Judo Championship National Finals.” Combining WESING’s outstanding product quality with first-class service support, we are fully committed to ensuring the successful completion of the “2018 National Dojo Club Judo Championship National Finals.”

According to the introduction, this competition features two categories: an Open Category and a U15 Category. Each category includes seven weight classes for both men and women. Only athletes who placed in the top eight in each weight class during the preliminary rounds of the 2018 National Dojo Club Judo Championships—held in the northern and southern regions—are eligible to participate in the final round.

More than 200 athletes and coaches from 46 dojos, clubs, and sports schools across the country took part in this competition. A total of 11 events were contested in the Open Category and the U15 Category. The Qinghai Provincial Sports School team won two gold medals— in the men’s Open Category under 81 kg and in the women’s Open Category under 70 kg—while the remaining nine gold medals were awarded to nine different teams. Over the two-day competition, the team from Zhihe Town Middle School in Pengzhou emerged as the biggest winner, securing a total of four gold medals. In addition, the Zhihe Town Middle School team from Pengzhou, along with the Liaocheng Competitive Sports Team and the Tianjin Jinggang National Martial Arts Team, jointly received the Sportsmanship Award.

It is understood that the National Dojo Club Judo Championship is held annually. The competition aims to promote the widespread development of judo, expand the pool of judo practitioners, and identify outstanding young talents. This year’s event is being held in two stages for the first time: preliminary rounds and the final. Previously, the preliminary rounds for the Southern Region were held in Wenzhou, Zhejiang, in May, and those for the Northern Region were held in Qingdao, Shandong, in September.

Xian Dongmei, President of the Chinese Judo Association, stated that holding a nationwide competition for dojo clubs is primarily aimed at providing amateur judo enthusiasts with an opportunity to showcase their talents. At the same time, the youth division of the competition will enable the Chinese Judo Association to better identify and cultivate outstanding reserve talent. “This is because many promising young athletes who show great potential aren’t training at sports schools; instead, they’re scattered across various dojos and clubs. These youngsters are genuinely passionate about judo and often pay out of their own pockets to practice at their clubs. We hope that through such competitions, we can discover more young athletes who love judo and attract them into professional teams, where they can receive more systematic training and further expand the pool of talent available for the entire judo program,” said Xian Dongmei.

Yan Tianyuan from the Competition Department of the Chinese Judo Association has been watching the competition on-site for two days straight. He noted that the level of this year’s competition has improved compared to previous years. “The improvement isn’t just in the athletic performance; it’s also reflected in the competitors’ deeper understanding of the spirit of judo, as well as their grasp of the rules and judo etiquette,” said Yan Tianyuan.

Zheng Xiaoyu, Chairman of Guangdong Zhongrou Cultural and Sports Management Co., Ltd. and Vice President of the Guangdong Judo Association, said: “Although the athletes competing this time are all non-registered athletes, they are all outstanding competitors who have been rigorously selected through multiple rounds of qualifying events held at various regional stations throughout the year. They represent the highest level among Chinese amateur judo athletes. We hope that the ‘Zhongrou Cup’ will help more people learn about judo and fall in love with it.”
